Next month i will probably start with a new film "Neglection". The genre is horrorfilm! It is the first time for me to make a horrorfilm. I am looking forward to start with that!!!!

TV programme for deaf??

Tv programme for deaf?

I have spoken with some persons (TV producers) about a TV-programme for deaf. I have made a TV-format, but they think that there is no need for such a program.

They even ask:

What is the surplus value?
Is there a need for it?
Will deaf Dutch and Belgians look at this programme?
Will it be a succes?

I answered them: The Dutch and Belgium need very much an information and news programme for and by deaf with commentarys, reports and news-reels. The BBC makes suck a programme (See, hear). The programme is meant for a specific group with its own culture. It can be comparised with a programme for cutlural minorites, like moroccans or turcisch people, but also with other programmes for a special group.

Should we stop making cooking-programmes, because not everyone like to cook?

Many groups in our society already have their own television programme, but not the deaf! I absolutely want to go on trying to get such a programme on Dutch Television.

Next week i have an appointment with someone from TELEAC (broadcasting organisation). I hope we will have a good conversation.
